A Revisit To Jackie Rey's

Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill (and faux Sports Bar)

This is my updated report on this fine local eatery.  It has been four months since my last visit and I calculated that it was time to revisit the quality of their cuisine and service.  I was not disappointed.

My luncheon appetizer was their Crab Cakes with Red Thai Curry Sauce.  The cakes were large and tender.  The sauce was light with a nice spicy kick.  The presentation was good and the overall taste was excellent.

My entrée was, given the faux sports bar motif, their Classic Burger with Crispy Onions, nicely done Bacon and a thick slab of Cheddar Cheese.  The side was an excellent slaw.  The burger made from locally grown beef was perfectly done.  The combination of textures and tastes made for a delicious lunch.

The restaurant ambiance was very nice.  The open space allowed for a nice ocean breeze.  The service was subdued and friendly.  My fellow diners were obviously very pleased to be here for there was lots of laughter.  It was just a very nice dining experience.

Jackie serves a nice selection of salads, a wide range of sandwiches, and everything is reasonable priced.  The bottom line is that the food and service are good.  I look forward to future visits.
